The Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservators of the Province of Arezzo, upon proposal and with the collaboration of its Commission, announces the National writing competition 'Architecture of Words', this year in its fifth edition. A project sponsored by the APPC National Council and the National Diary Archive Foundation.
The Competition is inspired by the work 'Architecture of words' written by Carlo Mollino, a leading architect in the context of Italian and European architecture of the twentieth century. The objective is to read and interpret architecture through a textual narrative, a challenge that puts the spotlight on historical, modern or contemporary architecture in a context free from preconceptions and superstructures. Participation is free and open to all.

The papers must have the following characteristics;

  • the work must be unpublished, autobiographical, not fictionalized and referring to existing architecture: it may contain testimonies, facts, reports and travel experiences;
  • the text of the work must have a length of no more than 7.000 characters;
  • Competitors can only present one (1) work, written in Italian.

The deadline for submitting your work is 2nd June 2024. Click here to find out more
