Is called “The promotion of handicraft products and support of craftsmen” and it is the announcement of the European Commission, through the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, opening on September 2nd, aims to support European artisans and promote the promotion of artisanal products, especially for tourism. It will have a total budget of €970.
Three lines of intervention are envisaged: direct support for artisans (with financial contributions or technical assistance); the creation of mechanisms for collaboration and exchange between artisans through the European Tourism Platform; and incentives for projects that integrate craftsmanship and tourism promotion in production regions.
Products with geographical indications will be particularly promoted, in line with new EU legislation that extends this protection to artisanal and industrial goods.
Groups of at least six entities from three eligible countries, including business support organizations and training or research institutions, can participate.
