From 1st to 14th July a group volunteering activity entitled “Summer activities with children 1” took place as part of the HeSo projectESC funded by the EU.

The main objective of the activity was to support the organization of a summer camp for children at the Diocesan Caritas of Patti in Sant'Agata di Militello. The project involved 16 volunteers from various countries, including Spain, France, Italy, Serbia, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic. Over the course of two weeks, the volunteers helped run various activities for the children, such as games, workshops, and sports sessions.

In addition to working with the children, volunteers assisted Caritas with various organizational tasks. These included helping with the storage and distribution of food aid, sorting donated clothing, and preparing it for families in need. They also helped maintain the organization's spaces and reorganize the Caritas Center's warehouse.

During the project, volunteers had the opportunity to explore the town of Sant'Agata di Militello, visit Castell'Umberto with the children, participate in team-building activities, and discuss and explore the topic of migration and cultural exchange.

The camp was significant for the local community, especially for the children, who were able to participate in summer activities and spend time with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as for the volunteers, who explored various topics and gained international experience.
