European Youth Together projects aim to create networks that promote regional partnerships in close collaboration with young people from across Europe, including EU Member States and third countries associated with the programme. These networks aim to facilitate exchanges, offer training opportunities (especially for youth workers and leaders) and enable young people to initiate joint projects. These activities can be carried out both through physical meetings and online platforms.
The main objectives of the European Youth Together projects are the following:
- promote cooperation between young people across Europe, enabling them to create joint initiatives, organize exchanges and facilitate training programs for youth leaders and workers, using both physical and online channels. This initiative supports transnational partnerships for youth organisations, from grassroots to large-scale levels, with the aim of strengthening their European commitment;
- highlight key thematic priorities, including alignment and promotion of EU Strategy for the Youth Goals 2019-2027 and the European Youth Goals, as well as alignment with the Commission political guidelines of President von der Leyen. Project proposals can also address the legacy of the European Youth Year 2022 and the results of the “Conference for the Future of Europe”. The 2024 European Parliament elections are relevant in this context;
- encourage youth networks to explore ways to promote solidarity and inclusion in the recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The specific objectives of the action include:
- promote transnational cooperation between different youth organisations, both online and offline, to build or strengthen partnerships focused on solidarity and inclusive democratic participation, particularly in response to socio-economic challenges. This is in line with the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, the European Youth Goals, the EU Youth Dialogue and the European Year of Youth 2022;
- promote the six fundamental values of the EU: respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and respect for human rights, including those of minorities;
- Encourage youth organizations to involve young people in the democratic process and society through training, showing commonalities among young Europeans and stimulating discussions about their connection with the EU, its values and democratic principles. This may include organizing events ahead of the 2024 European Parliament elections;
- promote the participation of underrepresented youth groups in politics, youth organizations and civil society, particularly those facing socio-economic vulnerabilities and disadvantages;
- Strengthen youth organizations through innovative cooperation methods and the development of networks. This may involve enhancing digital collaboration through non-formal learning methods and alternative models of exchange and mutual support;
- Strengthen the European dimension of the activities of grassroots youth organisations, including initiatives related to sustainable living in line with the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus initiative.
The activities of this action are aimed at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and public bodies proposing projects capable of mobilizing young people in various countries and regions of the EU Member States and third countries associated with the programme. These activities aim to contribute to the development and implementation of the EU Youth Strategy, policy formulation and engagement with key stakeholders in the youth field.
Mobility activities for young people can play a central role in European Youth Together projects, offering informal training opportunities in international and intercultural contexts.
Particular attention must be paid to the inclusiveness and participation of young people, both inside and outside youth organisations, who experience disadvantaged conditions or difficulties in accessing mobility tools and opportunities, also to ensure that they are involved and listen to different ideas and opinions.
The projects of this action, which are managed directly by the EACEA Executive Agency and which normally last 24 months, must involve at least 5 organizations from as many Program Countries, and may also involve public or private companies, including social enterprises, but not as coordinators.
