Key Action 3 (KA3) of the Erasmus+ Program acts as an “engine” for political cooperation at the European Union level and for supporting the youth sector as a whole.
Even if only some of its funding instruments are directly accessible to all youth organisations, this Action plays an instrumental role in promoting existing policies and promoting new ones in the different sectors covered by the Programme.
The activities implemented through Key Action 3 are in fact strategically designed to achieve, among others, these objectives:
- prepare and support the implementation of the EU political agenda, facilitating governance and coordination between the different actors involved;
- encourage and support the experimentation of new policies by public authorities and their implementation in the field in different countries;
- facilitate transparency, recognition of skills and qualifications, credit transfer, quality assurance, digital credentials and validation of non-formal and informal learning to improve skills management and guidance;
- promote political dialogue between all interested actors, inside and outside the European Union;
- improve and strengthen collaboration and the transfer of skills between the various national agencies involved.
Almost all the activities of Action 3 are managed at a centralized level by the European Commission, and serve among other things to support large-scale activities carried out by European youth bodies such as Eurodesk network or European Youth Forum.
Two funding lines of Erasmus+ Action 3 in the Youth sector are open to the participation of all youth organizations that have some specific requirements.
