PO.WER Call for proposals for women's rights and against gender violence

WeWorld, independent Italian non-profit organization active in 26 countries including Italy, promotes the PO.WER call – Promoting Organisations' empoWErment to guarantee women's human Rights and stop gender violence, funded by the European programme CERV-DAPHNE. The initiative aims to support, sustain and strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations in the fight against gender violence. It is coordinated in Italy by WeWorld, in Spain in collaboration with Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo and in Greece with Action Aid Hella. At the center of the consolidation of the skills of civil society organizations engaged in the fight against gender violence according to an intersectional and transfeminist approach.

The overall budget of 345 thousand euros includes various lines of intervention:

  • support for practices and direct intervention aimed at women, girls and LGBTQIA+ subjects.
  • Support for capacity building and institutional mechanisms to combat gender-based violence.
  • Support for prevention, awareness and mobilization of young people for the promotion of practices that systemically promote respect and equity in relationships, imaginaries and languages ​​free from gender stereotypes.
  • Support for policy making, advocacy and research for the improvement of regulatory frameworks and the adoption of institutional devices to combat gender violence.

Private non-profit entities registered in Italy may participate. This category includes: all Third Sector Entities (ETS) registered in the National Third Sector Register (RUNTS); organizations registered in the ONLUS registry; social enterprises registered in the appropriate sections of the relevant registers; other private non-profit entities, with or without legal personality, pursuing civic, solidarity and social utility purposes and demonstrating their experience, skills and knowledge; foundations, recognized and unrecognized associations, committees, non-ETS.
