The Reuters Institute, an integral member of the Department of Politics and International Relations of the University of Oxford, has opened a call for applications for approximately 30 scholarships for practicing journalists and / or mid-career. This is a real training course, lasting between 3 and 6 months, which includes various moments such as seminars, conferences, debates and networking moments, depending on the type of scholarship.

The main requirement to apply is to have a minimum of 5 years' experience (or, in rare cases, an equivalent level of demonstrable competence). This is followed by the presentation of the following documentation:

  • CV (2 pages)
  • two letters of reference
  • motivation letter (1 page)
  • an abstract (50 words) and a project statement (1 page) on the proposed project idea

Most of the scholarships are a full coverage and also provide for the provision of a monthly allowance £2.000 to support travel and accommodation costs. Applications for the 2024/25 year will open in January 2024. For more information click here.
