For the project DIY from the Heart, Leroy Merlin Italy supports the commitment of third sector organizations to foster inclusive development in society for those experiencing social disadvantage and housing poverty. It will therefore provide renovation and decoration products, technical expertise, and the hours of volunteers who will take part in minor maintenance work.

The aim is to gather project ideas for small-scale maintenance and renovation projects for interior spaces or gardens. Participation in the project is open to third-sector organizations registered in the National Register, volunteer organizations, social promotion associations, and non-profit organizations, as well as registered social enterprises and social cooperatives—provided they have their registered office and operational headquarters in Italy and have been active for at least two years.

They must also operate in the following areas: semi-residential services designed to provide social aggregation for young people and/or the elderly and/or to support families with disabled or non-self-sufficient individuals, the homeless, or women victims of violence; residential services aimed at providing assistance and support to people in particularly difficult and disadvantaged situations.
