A project that falls within the program CERV – Citizens, equality, rights and values ​​of the European Union and will have a budget of 1 million euros.Connecting Spheres: strengthening CSOs and networks to protect GBV survivors in all their diversity  is promoted by the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation, OXFAM Italy and OXFAM Italy Intercultura.

The aim of the initiative is to strengthen human rights associations, LGBTQIA+ associations, anti-violence centers, anti-trafficking centers, associations for the rights of minors and other Civil Society Organizations present and active in the territory that fight against inequalities and violence against LGBTQIA+ people in Italy. The focus is on interventions to prevent and respond effectively to gender-based violence and contribute to building a more equal society in which LGBTQIA+ people live free from violence in all areas of life. The specific needs of migrants and refugees, trans women, girls, young people, disabled people and those living in remote and peripheral areas will be taken into account.

The lines of intervention are:

  •  Strengthening support and referral services and the reporting system for LGBTQIA+ people who are victims/survivors or at risk of gender-based violence.
  • Transforming social norms that perpetuate gender-based violence and eradicating gender stereotypes.
  • Strengthening the development and implementation of national and international legislation and policies on gender-based violence (influence and advocacy).

The call is aimed at small and medium-sized CSOs with experience in preventing and combating gender violence and in raising awareness of LGBTQIA+ rights. They must have been legally established for at least 2 years at the time of submitting the proposal and be Third Sector Entities (ETS).
