The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Ministry of Culture (MiC) Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity and the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona (IIC) have announced the fourth edition of the BARCELONA PRIZE, a program of residencies dedicated to sustainable design themes.

The aim of the Award is to support young designers through scholarships in Barcelona to have a training and professional experience at an institution or company: it will also be an interesting opportunity to study 'live' the themes connected to sustainable design. The scholarships, of
duration of 6 months (January - June 2025), provides for a monthly allowance of €2.312,50 to cover living expenses and
travel to and from Barcelona and insurance coverage for health expenses, injuries and accidents.

The winners will be able to participate in the cultural initiatives organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona and/or IED Barcelona and will have the opportunity to present the results to the public at the end of the residency.

To participate you must:

  • be Italian citizens;
  • be born after December 31, 1989;
  • have obtained a three-year, master's or single-cycle degree, or equivalent qualification;
  •  carry out proven design and/or research activities in the specific sector of sustainable design;
  • have a good knowledge of English and/or Spanish.
