The activities of the Youth sector of the Erasmus+ Program are not only aimed at young people, but also aim to strengthen youth work as a whole in Europe and beyond.
It is therefore essential to actively involve employees as well youth workers, understood as all those who work or in any case have an active role within organizations, bodies, associations of various types, involved with young people and for young people.
Mobility activities aimed at these operators allow them to acquire new skills and knowledge, exchange their experiences, share good working practices and grow together with colleagues from other countries, cultural contexts, work systems.
Indirectly, the activities aimed at operators also have a positive impact on the organizations and institutions they belong to, which can thus increase their social impact and the quality of the work carried out.
Project Erasmus + of mobility for youth and socio-educational workers can include within it:
- professional development activities i.e. transnational mobility activities (study visits and various types of tasks, such as job coaching, exchanges e learning reciprocal; the creation of networks and community building among animators; training courses for the development of skills; seminars e workshop for the development of knowledge and sharing of best practices);
- system development and awareness-raising activities, that is, complementary activities that serve to enhance the impact of the mobility project;
- preparatory visits which aim to ensure a high quality of mobility activities, through the creation of a solid partnership between the organizations and people involved, especially when the participation of people with special needs is envisaged.
There they are age limits for youth and socio-educational workers who want to participate in this type of activity, but it is good to remember that projects and requests for funding must always be requested by an organization and not by individuals. Requests must be submitted toNational agency of the country in which the organization that decides to coordinate the activity is based and the minimum number of organizations involved is two, coming from two several Program countries.
Activities can last from 2 to 60 days, involving a maximum of 50 participants.
The funds provided by the European Union cover travel costs, calculated based on the distance and type of transport, as well as a flat-rate contribution (i.e. a fixed daily amount for each participant, based on the country in which the activity) which is used for all expenses related to the project. To encourage and support the participation of people with special needs or from disadvantaged geographical areas, additional contributions are envisaged, up to 100% of the necessary expenses.
