After a year, the time to pack has arrived. I leave my life in Palermo to rediscover French life.. unfortunately! Oh yes, it's not easy to leave the people I've lived with, all the people I've known, the people who have helped me and the people I've helped. I've had a truly wonderful year. I discovered so many beautiful things that I take with me to France.

I was lucky enough to work in a very interesting center with wonderful people. The Casa ancheio was like a second family that was always here for me and could count on me. In fact, we had this perfect understanding that if someone needed me, I was here at the center, but if I needed a day, I could take it. So, I worked from Monday to Friday, in the morning or in the afternoon but also sometimes, on weekends. I was a support for the center's workers and a person the kids could trust, little by little. An educator in France, the work I did in Palermo opened me up to other things to do in my job and made me discover many things about welcoming migrants and people with disabilities.

It was the first time for me to live among roommates. I think that was the thing that scared me the most! But in the end, perhaps the most beautiful things! I lived with people from Spain, Turkey, Estonia, Slovakia, Latvia, Germany… We had an incredible group with whom I spent unforgettable moments. We did many things together, we traveled all over Sicily… Truly, they are people I will never forget!

My life in Palermo, Sicily at the time was made up of my work, my life with all the other Palermo volunteers with whom we had a beautiful friendship but also with the riding lessons I did with Italians and finally, the discovery of sicily and palermo which is a beautiful city for me. I really enjoyed living in this city where I always found something new to do, to discover, to eat!! And Sicily… an island where I will surely come again!
