FIRST® LEGO® League is a global competition open to teams of girls and boys which aims to develop projects in the field of educational robotics and encourage the learning of STEM - Science (science), Technology (technology), Engineering (engineering) and Mathematics ( mathematics). The initiative is also curated this year by the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation together with its network of regional partners.
All girls and boys born between 2013 and no later than 2017 can participate. The teams can be both scholastic and extracurricular and must be made up of a minimum of 2 elements to a maximum of 6 elements with the supervision of at least 2 adult coaches.
There are two categories foreseen:
- Explore: is aimed at teams made up of 2 to 6 girls and boys, accompanied by at least 2 adult coaches, who will dedicate themselves to the construction and movement of a LEGO® model based on instructions that are sent and in the creation of a poster presenting the accomplished results.
- Challenge: involves teams of 2 to 10 girls and boys, with the support of at least 2 coaches. The teams compete on a competition field by programming autonomous LEGO® robots that will have to carry out the missions required by the regulations.
For both sections the theme of the year is MASTERPIECE: innovation at the service of the creation and communication of art. It is possible to register until November 1, 2023. To learn more, please click here
