Il Earth Investigations Program, supported by Arcadia, funds cross-border teams of professional journalists and/or editorial teams to conduct investigations with the aim of investigating and documenting illegal abuses related to environmental issues, which involve European policies and affairs within and outside Europe . The program can also support comparative investigations on local environmental and political issues between two or more regions/cities.

The total amount available per alert, to be distributed across all supported investigations, is 400.000 €. The funding can cover working time and expenses, such as logistics, travel, insurance, access to legal support, translations, access to technology and datasets, etc…

It is aimed at cross-border groups of at least two professional journalists and/or editorial staff.

Proposals for environmental investigations must be submitted by 18 January 2004, 13.00 pm (CET).
