An artistic residency program designed to sharpen one's sensibilities and creative skills in the rich cultural environment made in the USA. The New York Award, in its 19th edition, has been developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Ministry of Culture (MiC), the Italian Cultural Institute in New York and the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University in New York.

To participate in the Program, the following requirements must be met:

  • be an Italian citizen and resident in Italy;
  • be born after 31 December 1988;
  • be artists operating in the specific sector of visual arts;
  • have organized at least one personal exhibition;
  • have a good command of the English language.

The selected candidates will be able to spend a period of six months in New York participating in the activities of the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Academy. At Columbia University they will also be able to attend lectures in art history, film theory, visual arts and architecture as auditors. At the end of the path, the artistsə will organize an exhibition of their works at the exhibition spaces of the International Studio & Curatorial Program in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

The beneficiaries will be able to count on a monthly payment of $4.000,00  for room and board; availability of a study at the ISCP; coverage of transport costs and health expenses. You have until to apply August 14 2023. To find out more, just click here
