The meaning of journalism today: to put the world of information, new media and social media at the centre, Gedi News Network promotes the scholarships named after Eugenio Scalfari for 2024 aimed at young people aged up to 32 years.

The announcement is a tribute to the founder of La Repubblica and to the passion for printed paper (and not only) that characterized his entire life, aiming to direct boys and girls towards the profession of journalism in a constantly changing society. The theme proposed this year is in fact "The challenge of journalism in a changing world".

Particular attention will be given to investigative journalism, a research approach that can coexist with the world of social networks. The project is aimed at journalism schools accredited by the National Order of Journalists or by regional Orders: the schools will choose the male and female students to propose (three applications for each school and an age limit of 32 years). The winners will be awarded two scholarships worth 5 thousand euros, covering the costs of staying in Rome for an internship at the editorial staff of La Repubblica.

The works of the candidates will be evaluated by a commission composed among others of the current director of Repubblica Maurizio Molinari. Those who pass the first phase will then be invited to take an oral interview. For the winners, the six-month internship will start from October 2024.

Applications for admission must be received by March 24, 2024. Click here to find out more
