Objective of the line cross-sectoral is to facilitate and strengthen collaboration between the different cultural and creative sectors. The intent is to help these sectors face and resolve the challenges they face on a daily basis; but not only that: a fundamental part is the research and application of innovative solutions.

In fact, a single transversal approach brings with it great benefits, just think of the positive effects in terms of knowledge transfer and administrative efficiencies.

Furthermore, and for the first time, the cross-sector sector of the Creative Europe program covers the media sector.

The world of information, in fact, needs support for face and adapt to structural and technological changes of your field. In this sense, the activities of the Intersectoral section will be aimed at promoting a free, diversified and pluralistic media reality and at promoting not only the quality of journalism, but also media literacy which can no longer afford to ignore the digital environment within which it is articulated .

In general, the focus of the cross-sector sector is divided between:

  • common challenges and opportunities for the cultural and creative sectors;
  • actions to support the mass media sector by promoting media literacy, pluralism and media freedom.

Le support actions they therefore focus on the following aspects:

  • Transnational political cooperation: here culture plays a primary role as a fundamental element for achieving social inclusion, freedom and artistic promotion; great attention also to promoting awareness of the program and supporting the transferability of results.
  • Creative innovation laboratories: Innovative approaches to the creation, access, distribution and promotion of content across all cultural and creative sectors are promoted. Such approaches must take into account the “digital transition” and include both market and non-market dimensions.
  • Media: support for media literacy, quality journalism, media freedom and pluralism.
  • Creative Europe Desks: support for the creation of Creative Europe desks in all participating countries and stimulus for cross-border cooperation and exchange of "best practices" in the cultural and creative sectors.
