Il Rural Center for Human Interests (i.e. RUCHI, which means 'interest' in Hindi) is offering a volunteer camp in Patta, India, Women Power, for 10 volunteers, from 30 June to 12 July (project code RC-MTV-CD-6/25).

Ruchi's project starts from the idea that there is still much to be done to promote gender equality and reduce inequalities between men and women. To do this, individual women and groups in rural communities with whom the volunteers will interact must be empowered, identifying needs and intervention actions. The project aims to 'empower women and girls of all ages', helping them to gain confidence, recognize and claim their rights and, above all, begin to be recognized as full members of the family.

Volunteers will be able to actively participate in the meetings of women's self-help groups: they will understand how they work with the aim of also developing women's entrepreneurship initiatives to financially support families.

Volunteers will be accommodated at Ruchi campus in double/triple room. Authentic Indian vegetarian meals will be provided.
