It will also be held this year Youth Translators, a competition created by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation for young translatorsə of all secondary schools in the European Union. The announcement can be consulted here.
The aim is to promote language learning in schools and give boys and girls the opportunity to experience what it means to be a translator.
Each school will select 2 to 5 male/female students together with the two chosen languages among the 24 official EU languages. The school is responsible for organizing the competition at local level, it will have to take care of all practical aspects, such as making available the appropriate premises, staff and IT equipment, and guarantee fair and impartial conditions of participation for competitors.
To participate, studentsə interested parties must:
- be born in 2006;
- be regularly enrolled in a school.
Applicant schools must be based in an EU country, be recognised, have internet access and have the necessary IT equipment. Secondary schools can register and participate access this website from 4 September to 16 October 2023.
