It will also be held this year Youth Translators, a competition conceived by Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission for young translators from all secondary schools in the European Union.

The aim is to promote language learning in schools and give childrenə 17-year-olds have the opportunity to experience what it means to be a translator. The number of schools invited to participate in the competition in each country is equal to the number of seats the country holds in the European Parliament: 720 in total for the entire EU. Up to five students per school can participate. Their efforts will be evaluated by professional translators.ə of the European institutions, which are responsible for finding the best translation for each country. The 27 winning students, one from each EU member state, are invited, along with their teachers and parents, to the awards ceremony held in Brussels.

To participate, studentsə interested parties must:

• be born in 2008;
• be regularly enrolled in a school.
