Culture Moves Europe, a project launched by European Commission and the Goethe Institut, offers artistic residencies for artists and cultural professionals in the 40 countries of Creative Europe (click here to visit the web page). The third call is aimed at cultural operators and has two lines of action: individual mobility action - for individuals and groups of up to 5 people; residency action – for legal entities hosting 1 to 5 artists and cultural professionals. Non-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations, public bodies, foundations and companies can apply to host.
The residency action is aimed at those who work in sectors such as architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion, literature, music, performing arts, visual arts and are at least 18 years old. The application process is divided into two phases: selection of guests and confirmation of the artists, creators and cultural professionals invited or selected by the hosts.
The residency project must pursue two of the following objectives:
- explore: conduct research, investigate and work on a specific topic or new concept;
- create: engaging in a collective creative process seeking to produce a new piece of artistic/cultural work;
- learn: improve participants' skills and abilities through non-formal learning or collaboration with a specialist;
- connect: develop a professional network, strengthen participants' professional development, engage new audiences;
- transform: contribute to social change in line with the values and principles of the New European Bauhaus.
There are three possible lengths of stay: short-term residency project, between 22 and 60 days; medium-term residency project, between 61 and 120 days; long-term residency project, between 121 and 180 days. Organizations will have to submit a proposal describing the duration, objectives and expected impact of their project, identifying an adequate and safe environment, equipment and a professional mentor for the artists. The stay grant is composed of the hospitality allowance assigned to the host and daily allowances, travel allowances and supplements, assigned to each participant based on travel plans and individual needs.
The deadline to participate is 15 May 2024. Click here to consult the complete announcement in English
