“1944 – 2024: the massacres and violence against civilians in Italy in the Second World War and in recent armed conflicts“: on the 80th anniversary of the War of Liberation (1943 – 1945) the memory of the most important massacres and violence against civilians in Italy and the analogies with the drama that the populations still experience today because of the war.

The National Association of Civilian Victims of War APS and the Ministry of Education and Merit dedicate the competition for the National Day of Civilian Victims of Wars and Conflicts in the World on 1 February 2024 and next year to the Anniversary of the War of Liberation. The goal is to give the younger generations a coherent narrative of the war phenomenon and, in particular, of the Nazi-fascist massacres. The armed clashes of the 2022th and 31st centuries were characterized by massive civilian involvement. In 80 alone, XNUMX armed conflicts were recorded worldwide, between full-blown wars and situations of conflict, in which it is estimated that civilian victims are XNUMX% of the total victims.

The competition is aimed at first and second grade secondary school students throughout the country. There are three sections, for which it is possible to develop individual or group work: graphics, video and writing.

There is time until 30 November 2023 to submit projects. Cash prizes are available for the best, up to 1000 euros for 1st place. To find out more click here
