Opportunities for those who want to perfect their preparation in the scientific sector with experience in the field. The Cern, the European Organization for Nuclear Research – the world's largest particle physics laboratory – has activated programmes training and work for graduates and graduates.
To apply, you must have citizenship of a CERN member country or an associated member state; have started a PhD course at a university; good knowledge of English or French.
Programs are available:
- DOCTORAL STUDENT PROGRAM, to prepare the degree thesis in Applied Physics, Engineering or Computer Science within the Organization. Participants will be involved in innovative experiments and hired for an initial period of 6 months, renewable up to 3 years and up to a maximum of 36 months. Monthly salary of approximately 3.550 euros.
- TECHNICAL STUDENT PROGRAM, for technical students interested in gaining international professional experience, working in technological fields related to applied physics, electrical or electronic engineering, civil engineering, IT, mathematics and robotics, materials and surface science, mechanical engineering. A contract with a duration of 4 to 12 months is foreseen, which can be extended with a monthly allowance of over 3.000 euros.
- ADMINISTRATIVE STUDENT PROGRAM, for university students specialized in Administration (bachelor's or master's), who will be able to spend a training period of 2 to 12 months during their studies. Salary of more than 3.000 euros.
- SUMMER STUDENT PROGRAM, summer program for students of variable duration, for a maximum of three months. During this period the student will have the opportunity to work on an advanced technical project as part of an experimental team, in engineering or computer science.
