The fourth Italian edition of the Young European Heritage Makers Competition, promoted by the Council of Europe and coordinated in Italy by Directorate-General of Museums of the Ministry of CultureAn initiative that aims to introduce younger generations to cultural heritage, encouraging active, exploratory, and cognitive enjoyment.

The project is aimed at school-age children and young people from countries participating in the European Heritage Days (EHDs). For this edition, participants will be asked to reflect and discuss architectural heritage, which is the theme of EHD 2025 – 'Architecture: the art of building'. Participation is simple: participants are asked to use visual materials – photos, drawings, paintings, or a short video of up to 3 minutes (videos only for students aged 11-17) – and a short text (up to 800 words, in Italian or English) to describe a tangible/intangible/digital account of their local cultural heritage, explaining its significance for the community and its connection to Europe's cultural heritage. The competition is open to two age groups: children aged 6-11 (primary school) and girls aged 11-17 (secondary school), organized into groups.

Each group must be supported in the creation of their project by an adult mentor, already authorised to work in contact with the children and young people involved (teacher, librarian, educational operator, museum staff, professional who works in contact with young people).

The deadline to participate is December 15, 2025. Click here for all the details
