Il Charlemagne Youth Prize, Organized by the European Parliament and Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize in Aachen, is awarded annually to projects curated by young people that place democracy at the center and promote active participation: the aim is to recognize the work that young people do every day to shape a shared European identity.

To participate, applicants must develop a project that highlights and strengthens active citizenship practices and serves as a role model for young people; be between 16 and 30 years old and reside in one of the EU Member States. All submitted projects will first be evaluated by the national jury of the project's Member State, which will select a single nominee. From the 27 national winners, three European winners will be selected by the European jury and will receive up to €7500.

Representatives of each winning project at national level will be invited to take part in the Charlemagne Youth Prize award ceremony, which will take place in Aachen on 12 May 2026. As part of the prize, the European winners will be invited to visit the European Parliament.
