The initiative is sponsored by theAssociation Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen, which has created an itinerant artistic journey published through a new expression of interest addressed to Conservatories and European Music Institutes, for selections for the formation of the Erasmus Orchestra.

Each Conservatory and Music Institute will be able to propose a maximum no. 5 students with excellent command in at least 2 instrument categories among these proposals:

  • Strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass);
  • Woodwinds (oboe/English horn, flute/piccolo, clarinet/bass clarinet, gagotto, horn, trumpet, trombone/bass trombone, bass tuba);
  • Percussion and Harp (percussion, timpani, harp).

In addition to the instrumentalists, each Higher Institute of Musical Education can propose a maximum of 2 singers or 1 conductor (student):

  • Singers (soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto, tenor, baritone, bass);
  • Orchestra conductors (students): high artistic qualities and theoretical-practical preparation in conducting a musical ensemble.

Participation in the activities of the Erasmus+ Orchestra is a free title and a certificate of participation will be issued for each event, while travel, board and lodging expenses will be paid directly by the Erasmus+ National Agency INDIRE.
