There is time until July 16, 2026 to participate in the public consultation promoted by the European Commission to define the new Union Strategy for Youth.
The strategy will represent the future framework for youth policies starting in 2028. The aim is to support young people's social and civic engagement, ensuring that policies truly reflect their needs.
The Strategy focuses on three main areas of action, encapsulated in three key words: engage, connect, and empower. A dialogue process that has been ongoing since 2017, involving young people and youth workers from across Europe, has led to the development of 11 European Youth Goals (EU Goals), which identify relevant cross-cutting areas in young people's lives. The European Youth Strategy should help realize this vision. The identified goals are:
- connecting the EU to young people.
- Gender equality.
- Inclusive societies.
- Information and constructive dialogue.
- Mental health and well-being.
- Promoting rural youth.
- Quality work for all.
- Quality learning.
- Space and participation for everyone.
- Green and sustainable Europe.
- Youth organizations and European programs.
Young people, youth workers, researchers, and members of organizations or institutions working with young people are welcome to participate in the consultation. Anyone can submit ideas and proposals for developing the new Strategy, highlighting objectives, priorities, desires, and needs. At the heart of the consultation is the political cooperation and interaction that, from 2028 onwards, will characterize the EU and individual Member States' approach to addressing the key social, economic, and cultural challenges faced by young Europeans throughout their lives.
