Diocesan Caritas of PattiIn partnership with InformaGiovani ETS, is currently looking for candidates for the European Solidarity Corps volunteering project “A New Hope: Volunteering in Caritas' Social Center”The project is taking place in Sant'Agata di Militello (Messina), Italy, and will last approximately six months. The project code is: 2024-2-IT03-ESC51-VTJ-00026886.
The volunteer will support the daily activities of the Caritas Social Center, working with people with fewer opportunities through solidarity and social inclusion initiatives. Duties include distributing food and clothing, supporting solidarity events, and engaging in community initiatives. During the summer, the volunteer will also help organize a summer camp for local children and youth, contributing to recreational and educational activities.
The project is aimed at young people aged between 20 and 30 years Previous experience in work camps or volunteer activities in their home country or abroad. A strong interest in youth work, promoting youth participation, volunteering, and social inclusion, along with a motivation to use non-formal education methods, is required. Skills in communicating with young people and teamwork are essential. Previous international volunteer experience and a driving license are preferred.
The picture of the European Solidarity Corps It covers accommodation, food (€150 per month), pocket money (€6 per day), local transportation, insurance, travel reimbursement in accordance with EU regulations, language support, official training, and Youthpass certification. The shelter is located in the center of Sant'Agata di Militello. Volunteers will sleep in a double room shared by both sexes. Bathrooms and showers are also shared by gender, and free Wi-Fi is available.
