![]() Deadline: 15th May 2016 Fondazione Orestiadi inaugurates a residential workshop for students in theatre criticism, photography, illustration and audiovisuals. The workshop will be held during the XXXV edition of Festival delle Orestiadi, from 16th July to 6th August 2016, in Gibellina. It addresses theatre criticism, communication and organization and provides hands-on experience at an international Festival in an important contemporary art town. The workshop is organized in collaboration with UniversiTeatrali-Centro Internazionale di Studi sulle Arti Performative dell’Ateneo di Messina (International Performing Arts Study Centre of Messina University) and with Latitudini-Rete siciliana di Drammaturgia Contemporanea (Sicilian Network of Contemporary Dramaturgy) and is media-partnered by the magazine aTeatro. During the workshop the students will be guided in the analysis of the main tools of theatre criticism, and in the production of content concerning the companies and the performances at the Festival, with images, video-interviews and in-depth articles. The contents produced will be integrated in the Festival’s communication plan. The students will also publish a daily report on the Festival’s site and keep a photo-video archive of the Festival’s ongoing edition. The artistic director: Vincenza Di Vita has a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Messina (2014), her curriculum is denominated: Performing Arts "Richard Schechner”. She has worked on a research project on Carmelo Bene and the female and is Adjunct Professor since 2014 at the University of Messina; she also teaches Sociology of Entertainment, History of Dance and Theater, Cinema and Photography at the College of Music and Performing Arts of Acireale in Sicily (ltaly). In 2012 as Assistant Professor she got a scholarship to teach Humanities Studies in University of Torun, in Poland for a semester. In 2015 she got a scholarship for a six-month research project about “SabirFest”, on Mediterranenean culture. She is the curator of the puppeteer Mimmo Cuticchio’s media archive. As a poet, performer, journalist and theater critic she has published scientific papers in the field of cultural studies. The workshop is in collaboration with UniversiTeatrali-Centro Internazionale di Studi sulle Arti Performative dell’Ateneo di Messina Latitudini-Rete siciliana di Drammaturgia Contemporanea aTeatro web magazine Eligability: The workshop is for a maximum of 6 students aged between 18 and 30 who study theatre, photography, cinema, illustration and arts in Universities or Academies of the European Union. Cost: The workshop is free. Board and lodging are provided, as well as tickets for the whole Festival program. Attendance is compulsory. It is possible to get extra-curricular CFU for students interested.
