Secondary schools from European Union countries are invited to participate in the annual Juvenes Translatores translation competition, organized by the European Commission. This year, the theme is “Leaving… towards a greener future”. Students will be able to choose to translate between any of the 24 official EU languages, with 552 possible language combinations.

Registrations are open until 12.00 on 20 October 2021 and can be made in one of the 24 official languages. The Commission will randomly select 705 schools, based on each country's number of seats in the European Parliament. Each selected school will be able to nominate up to 5 students born in 2004, regardless of their nationality.

The competition will be held online on 25 November 2021. The winners, one per country, will be announced in early February 2022. If possible, the award ceremony will take place in Brussels in spring 2022, where the winners will meet translators from the European Commission.
