The project of the Council of the European Union

The General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union is promoting EUCO Simulation for Students, a program simulating the work of the Council of the EU and the European Council. The simulation will take place in Brussels on 4 and 5 February 2027 and will involve six university students from each country. The project aims to gain practical knowledge of the activities of the two institutions and promote career opportunities for young students within the Council through direct exchanges with participating officials.
The selection process is managed by the CRUI (Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities). Students from all participating Italian universities who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply:
  • have enrolled in a master's or single-cycle course belonging to the degree classes listed in the notice;
  • arithmetic mean of the exams taken not less than 27 out of 30;
  • be no older than 28 years old;
  • certified knowledge of English at level B2 and certified knowledge of a second language of your choice between French, Spanish, or German at level B1 of the CEFR or higher.
The simulation will take place in the same rooms as the Working Groups, COREPER, the Council of the EU, and the European Council. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered, and at the end of the activities, the GSC will issue a certificate of participation.
