The European Citizens' Initiative is now open for signature collection. "Right to Housing! Now and Forever", dedicated to the theme of access to economically sustainable, fair and environmentally friendly housing.
The promoters are calling for a series of interventions in the European real estate market. The proposed measures include regulating short-term rentals and vacant properties, rehabilitating unused buildings, incentivizing renovations, increasing public investment in housing, and the creation of a European Housing Fund and Agency.
The Commission's registration of the initiative confirms its formal admissibility, but does not constitute an endorsement of the content or claims presented by the promoting group.
