As part of the inclusion action DiscoverEU, organizations and informal groups of young people can receive financial support to carry out projects that allow young people aged 18 and with fewer opportunities to participate in knowledge and training trips in Europe, lasting a maximum of 30 days.
Thanks to the support received, young people (alone or in a group of up to 5 people) can have a companion and may have financed, in addition to the trip, the costs of food and accommodation, as well as specific support costs for young people and girls with special needs. A management contribution is also foreseen for the organizations that manage the projects, based on the number of participants.
In principle participants will travel by train. However, in order to ensure the widest possible access, the action offers alternative modes of transport such as ferries and buses where necessary and takes into account considerations regarding environmental protection, travel issues and distances.
In exceptional cases and when no other means are available, you can also take the plane. In this way they will be able to participate in DiscoverEU even young people living in remote or island regions.
The objectives of each project are to:
- give young people the opportunity to get to know Europe, but also to discover Europe's opportunities for their future education and life choices
- provide young people with knowledge, life skills and useful skills
- encourage connection and intercultural dialogue among young people
- promote young people's sense of belonging to the European Union
- inspire young people to embrace sustainable travel in particular and environmental consciousness in general.
Projects must be submitted toErasmus+ National Agency competent, according to the timetable established in the Program guide.
To find out more about how to participate you can consult the European Youth Portal, in the dedicated section.
