University students, recent graduates and PhD students have three international mobility opportunities with Erasmus+.
In particular, it is about:
- opportunity to studio in a Program country
- opportunity to training in a Program country
- one or two academic years in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters
Each of these opportunities is accompanied by support tools such as those forlearning the language of the host country or those for the students with sensory or intellectual disabilities, even temporary ones.
All projects must meet the quality criteria set by the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and in Erasmus+ student card which establishes the rights and duties of each participant.
Below are the details of each type of mobility abroad.
Study abroad for male and female students, recent graduates and doctoral students
Study abroad it's a wonderful opportunity that today male and female students, recent graduates and doctoral students can grasp thanks to Erasmus+. A winning choice that not only helps to improve communication skills, languages and intercultural skills, but also allows you to acquire those transversal skills that are useful and then usable in the world of work.
Bachelor's or master's degree students and doctoral students can take part in this type of mobility.
The period of study abroad can last da a minimum of 2 months (or one academic quarter) up to a maximum of 12 months. As a student and trainee, the interested party can stay abroad several times as long as the total period of stay (which also includes study periods) does not exceed 12 months in one study cycle. For Medicine and Architecture students, a maximum period of 24 months can be expected.
Obviously the study plan followed during the months abroad must have a consistency with the learning path that the student is following for the purposes of the degree, since the objective is to broaden and enrich the study being done in one's own country.
The contribution given by the European Union is equal to the travel costs (up to a maximum calculated based on the distance) and the costs of food and accommodation (parameterized according to the difference in the cost of living between the country of departure and the host country) which can also be calibrated based on the total number of grant requests and the availability of other grants.
Erasmus+ students are exempt from paying taxes registration and expenses for exams and access to laboratories and libraries in the destination institution.
It is important to know that Erasmus+ mobility for students must always be done through the competent office of their university and cannot be done directly to the host university.
