Cultural activities and participation for a more inclusive community.

Over the past few weeks, international volunteers have taken part in Estiu a la Plaça, an initiative dedicated to promoting social inclusion and strengthening ties within the community of Badalona, Spain, a context characterized by conditions of social, cultural, and economic marginalization.
During the activity, participants collaborated in organizing and implementing initiatives aimed at the public, helping to create opportunities for encounters and participation open to people of all ages and backgrounds. Activities included entertainment, circus performances, painting workshops, sports, music, and open-air cultural events.
Volunteers also supported programs aimed at promoting the active participation of young people, encouraging their involvement in community activities. They also supported non-formal education initiatives aimed at countering stereotypes and prejudice, fostering respect and tolerance, and enhancing cultural diversity and intercultural learning.
Through these interventions, the activity offered an opportunity for international volunteers to meet with the local community, using culture, sports, and creative activities as tools for participation and social inclusion.
The initiative was carried out within the framework of the VEIL CORPS project, co-financed by the European Union and developed thanks to the collaboration between InformaGiovani  e La Rotllana.
