EURES, active since 1994, is a European cooperation network of employment services: free and multilingual, it is designed to facilitate both the search for a job and the search for candidates. The network includes all countries of the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

EURES aims to promote the free movement of workers and the intersection between job supply and demand, providing specific information, making a network of consultants available, organizing European job days, providing support and dedicated tools.

The Network is made up of around 1.000 consultancy offices across Europe, which carry out direct activities with people looking for work and with companies and organizations offering employment opportunities.

The main services offered by EURES to job seekers and employers are:

  • matching job offers and CVs on the EURES portal;
  • updated information on living and working conditions in EURES countries;
  • specific support services for cross-border workers and employers in cross-border regions;
  • support for seasonal workers and employers dealing with temporary placement in another country;
  • support for language training and integration in the destination country;
  • information and access to assistance after obtaining a job.

The central objective of the work that EURES has been carrying out for almost thirty years is to allow all European citizens to enjoy equal opportunities, despite the interposition of limitations due, for example, to linguistic barriers, cultural differences, bureaucratic challenges and to the various laws that regulate the labor market.
