Strengthening projects are international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organizations active in the field of sport in Program Countries and in third countries not associated with the Program in Regions 1 (Western Balkans) and 2 (Eastern Neighborhood). They aim to support sports activities and policies in third countries not associated with the Programme as a means of promoting values as well as an educational tool for the personal and social development of individuals and the construction of more cohesive communities.
The projects carried out within this action, in addition to contributing to the objectives and general priorities of Erasmus+, they must aim to:
-
increase the capacity of grassroots sports organizations
-
encourage the practice of sports and physical activity in third countries not associated with the Programme
-
promote social inclusion through sport
-
promote positive values through sport (such as fair play, tolerance, team spirit)
-
foster cooperation between different regions of the world through joint initiatives.
In particular, the activities must be aimed at making possible:
- the promotion of common values, non-discrimination and gender equality through sport
- the development of skills necessary to improve the social involvement of disadvantaged groups
- the integration of migrants
- post-conflict reconciliation.
For example, specific activities may include the creation and development of networks between organizations in different geographical areas, the exchange of good practices and the development of new innovative tools, the implementation of joint sporting activities or training/educational events, raising awareness of sport as a tool for inclusion and the fight against all forms of discrimination.
The projects, which can have a duration of 12, 24 or 36 months, must involve at least 4 organizations from three different countries, of which at least two Program Countries and one non-associated country.
