The European Solidarity Corps - ESC) is the European Union program that offers young people volunteering opportunities, in their own country or abroad, in projects aimed at helping communities or populations in Europe.
All young people who join the European Solidarity Corps accept and share its mission and principles. The Program strengthens the participation of young people and organizations in solidarity activities, in order to contribute to increasing cohesion and democracy in Europe, with a particular commitment to promoting social inclusion. The European Solidarity Corps is managed by the National Youth Agency.
È It is possible to join the European Solidarity Corps from the age of 17, but it is necessary to be at least 18 to be able to start a project. The projects are open to people up to 30 years old.
Organizations and bodies interested in hosting volunteers or coordinating projects must first obtain accreditation to receive a "Quality labels” which certifies possession of the formal and quality requirements.
